Mouth of the Microcosm: A Mix for D is for Diphtheria [Sam]

'Ello, all.

Sam won 2nd place in my first contest: Cal's Colorful Contest. One of her prizes was a fanmix, she wanted one for D is for Diphtheria. Go read it if you haven't already.

:D

The second part was so large I split it into two zips for convenience.

I have made a decision. I will no longer be offering single song downloads in my fanmixes, for two reasons, one it takes forever, and two it is a lot of work. So it will just be the zips of the sides for y'all now. The good thing is that for you guys I will be posting mixes faster.

Enjoy your prize, Sam.

Ta,

Cal.

But on second thoughts, I’d rather be there with my best friend, if she wants me.

For Carl and Sukie.

1. People Get Ready by The Frames

People all get ready

'Cos we're tearing down the stand

Rebuild what's gone unsteady

And see it through with newer hands

And what has gone between us

Is a lot, is a lot

And who'll be there to clean us

We have all the time in the world

To set alight, to set alight

We only see them ending

He said, “Oh, boy, you are so pretty…”

And when I finally kissed him, the whole world began to ring.

Always aching, always heading for mass suicide, occult figurines, and wasted gas station attendants, attending to their jobs.

And a nice drive in the country becomes a nice cliff to drop off of,

6. A Match Made In Texas by Her Space Holiday

He’s towing the line

He’s gender-defined

It’s the magic of America—we’re always so American.

The truth of it is, he just wants to kiss that boy she’s talking to

The one that seems to own the room

The way that he dances and the touch of his hands

and the unapologetic way his tiny clothes stick to his frame.

[…]

It’s her confident charm and the curve of her arms

That tightly bends her circuitry into a twisted mass of interesting.

The first for Carl and Todd, Todd and Mandy, Ashley, and for Carl and Sukie’s collective lack of understanding of the meaning of gender stereotype. The second is for Sukie.
